It is hard to see who is behind the business

Search engines and AI assistants have learned to prefer businesses with real people behind them: a page that says who you are, a named person, a qualification or a membership where one exists. It is the online version of a certificate on the wall.

You do not need a large team page. One honest paragraph about who you are and how long you have been doing this is most of it.

See for yourself

Read your own homepage as a stranger. Can they find your name, and a line about your background, without leaving it?

How to fix it

  1. Add an about section or page: who runs the business, since when, and any qualification or membership you hold.
  2. Name the person. A photo helps, but the name is what counts.
  3. Have your web person add the person to the machine-readable summary too.
The technical version, for your web person

E-E-A-T signals. We count four things: an about link or section, a team or people mention, a Person object in the structured data, and a qualification word (chartered, accredited, member of, and so on). Three of four earns full marks.

What the check reads. Keyword regex over page text (about/team/'meet the'/chartered/qualified/accredited/fca/icaew) plus JSON-LD Person type presence; scored 0-3, cost = 3 minus that count.

This is one of the checks in a YLB Score report. Every report is free, read by a person before it goes out, and written so that you can act on it without us. Ask for yours.
