How to fix it
- Apply updates on a schedule, monthly at least, with a backup first.
The technical version, for your web person
CMS detection. Generator meta tag or telltale paths (wp-content, and so on). Recorded as information, never scored.
What the check reads. meta[name=generator] tag content, else a substring match for wp-content/drupal/joomla/wix/squarespace/shopify in the HTML.
