YLB ScoreThe checks, explained › Part II, Will their message reach you?

Your fake-mail filter is fitted, and set to let fakes through

The filter exists, which is better than most, but it is on the setting that only watches. A message pretending to be you is still delivered; you are merely told about it afterwards.

Moving it to junk, then to refuse, is a ten-minute change once you are sure your own mail passes.

Worth about 4 points of your 100 for a typical businessAbout 1 hour, by whoever runs your email

See for yourself

dmarcian's checker shows the setting as p=none.

How to fix it

  1. Read the reports for a fortnight to confirm your legitimate mail passes.
  2. Change the policy from watch to junk, then to refuse.
The technical version, for your web person

p=none. The DMARC record exists with p=none. Half marks, and the report treats it as a quick win.

What the check reads. DMARC policy value is 'none' rather than quarantine/reject.

This is one of the checks in a YLB Score report. Every report is free, read by a person before it goes out, and written so that you can act on it without us. Ask for yours.
