How many separate pieces of code the page loads

Every separate script the page loads is one more thing the browser must fetch before it can show you anything. Fifteen or more is a sign that plugins have piled up over the years, each adding its own.

Fewer, larger pieces are quicker than many small ones.

How to fix it

  1. Remove plugins you no longer use; each usually brings a script.
  2. Ask your web person to combine what is left.
